Tuesday 12th November - walks *** – Orwell Country Park – morning sunny periods, afternoon cloudy with light rain.

We were tempted by an early morning sunrise walk but the sky didn’t look that inspiring so decided to give it a miss, perhaps tomorrow? For the first time in many days there was enough breeze for foil but the direction and tides worked against me so I had to give today a miss, especially as my heel is playing me up again, I was limited for time as we were meeting my sister at my Dads bungalow to sort a few things out at 2.30 which gave me enough time to do my exercises, pack a picnic and drive over to Orwell Country Park at Nacton for a walk. This mornings sunshine was fast disappearing with dark clouds approaching as we walked down through the woods with the path a carpet of multi coloured leaves:) We reached the River Orwell and the tide was very low and the weather was pretty gloomy by now as we walked along the beach towards the Orwell Bridge and it was lovely and quiet with very few people about. We sat at usual spot sheltered from the north wind and enjoyed our lunch with views across the the river with several birds flitting about. It did start to drizzle on us but nothing to worry about before confining past the small holding with loads of sheep but sadly no piggy’s :( Under the Orwell bridge and up through the woods as the drizzle continued to fall, getting fairly wet by the time we reached the van.
We then drove to meet my my sister had my Dads house who sadly passed last Sunday, it did seem very odd looking through his things but it has to be done. He is being cremated privately this Friday and we are having a due to celebrate his life on Thursday 21st which would have been his 96th Birthday, I will post more details closer to the day.

PS - was chuffed to get a pic on the late Look East on the BBC last night:)
